Palateur to represent Chateau Haut-Bergeron in the USA
The Lamothe family has been in the Sauternes region since the late 1600's and today Herve Lamothe keeps up the legacy of this Chateau which many say, in lieu of the 1855 classification, should be considered in the same breath as the cru classe. The Lamothes are extremely careful vintners and have a relationship with their vines so close, that over the years, they have perfected the art of reading them. One geographic privilige that Chateau Haut-Bergeron is having their vines next door to the prestigious Chateau d'Yquem and even though they have made more than good marketing out of this mention on their labels over the years, Haut-Bergeron has created its own reputation as an outstanding property. Palateur Imports is excited to be able to represent such a fine property in Sauternes and will be starting things off with some great young vintages in 2005 and 2007. Consumers will have access to the Haut-Bergeron through the soon to arrive, Palateur Fine Wine Desk.
