Domaine Cazes
The reason for Caze's worlwide reputation can be summed up in the words of two journalists: "Domaine Cazes learned early on how to get a grip on the market and maintain consistency"..."you can happily buy wines from this Domaine with your eyes shut". Since 1895, when the first vines were planted, the Cazes family has devoted itself to wine with a zeal that has been handed down from one generation to the next - a truly special heritage. Today, the Domaine's 170 hectares, including 120 uninterrupted hectares, are planted on various soils: flint, shingle, limestone and marl. Since 1997, the Cazes have introduced new methods in their vineyards, embracing the bio-dynamic principle. The result: with less intervention, the vines have become hardier and more resistant. Their increased natural strength means they produce wine which truly expresses the character of the terroir. Palateur is excited for the opportunity to represent Domaine Cazes in the state of Pennsylvania as part of a collaboration with their importer, A French Paradox.
